Ash Fork Arizona
Named in 1882 due to its ash trees on the town site, Ash Fork sits at an elevation of 5,140 feet. A 2000 census indicated the town had a population of 550 people and with its moderate climate; it makes for an idea stopping point. Today the town is known as the “Flagstone Capital of the United States”.
An attraction, “Mother Road” is an attraction that shouldn’t be missed. Historic markers along Old Route 66 honor this once great road that ran from Chicago to California.
Four beautiful lakes exist nearby all offering fishing and camping and the “Rolling Along Route 66 Days in an event celebrated every June.
