Buckeye Arizona
Known as Arizona’s biggest “small town”, Buckeye was founded in 1888 and today is home to over 20,000 people.
Buckeye’s name originated from Ohio state when Thomas Newton Clanton, G.L. Spain and M.M. Jackson built the Buckeye Canal. Incorporated in 1931 Buckeye was originally known as Sydney by Jackson, a native of Sydney Ohio.
With over 240,000 homes planned for the area, Buckeye is expected that the population will grow to over 100,000 inhabitants by the year 2010. Retail, entertainment, health care, education and employment are all projected along with all the homes being planned.
Being just 35 miles west of Phoenix makes this town ideal for work, sightseeing and an exciting nightlife. Some of the local events include the Countryfest in the fall, Pioneer Days ion the spring and a great family Fourth of July.
