Coolidge Arizona
Named after President Calvin Coolidge, after the construction of the Coolidge Dam, water was made available for irrigation for this commercial center of Arizona’s cotton industry. Today, becoming a regional trade and service center, this community provides equipment, supplies and personal services to the areas families.
A progressive city, Coolidge properties range from small ranchettes to larger farms blending together in a relaxed rural atmosphere. Desert plants abound along with spectacular landscapes and in and around the city.
The Coolidge Historical Museum, the festivals and local celebrations all contribute to the unique cultural heritage of the area. The Casa Grande Ruins National Monument preserves the ruins of the ancient Hohokam Indians who farmed this area hundreds of years ago.
Relaxing at the local San Carlos City Park, to the driving the Pinal Pioneer Parkway, the area offers tourists many beautiful spots for either bird watching or for just experiencing the outdoors. One portion of the drive just south of Florence contains a natural garden that has almost every species of flora found in Arizona’s desert. Excellent schools including Central Arizona Community College contribute to Coolidge’s current population of 6,900.
