Eagar Arizona
Originally called Union as a symbol of the unity among the settlements there, the town changed its name to Eagar to honor the original homesteaders from the late 1880’s. Located at the base of the White Mountains, Eagar has become a popular winter destination for skiers, and a popular choice for small business relocation and expansion.
Natural resources still play a major part of the community’s industry two major power plants and the timer industry form a large portion of the employment base of Eagar.
The 2 million acre Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest nearby offers lakes and miles of trout streams resulting in a popular tourist destination.
Year round activities include hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, camping, both downhill and cross-country skiing. Yearly events include the 4th of July Celebration and Rodeo, Eagar Daze, the ATV Outlaw Trail Jamboree and the Christmas Electric Light Parade.
