El Mirage Arizona
El Mirage is a residential community located in Maricopa County, Arizona. It was founded in 1937 and incorporated in 1951. It has a pleasant small town environment on the west bank of the dry Aqua Fria River. It was traditionally a farm community but it is currently developing its economic potential and has taken an aggressive policy in attracting new commercial and industrial businesses to benefit the city.
El Mirage has an elevation of 1,126 feet. It has a population of 28,310 based on the US Census 2004 with a majority being of Mexican origin. Most local residents work in nearby retirement of Sun City and Sun City West. Agriculture, construction and service sectors also employ much of its population.
