Globe Arizona

Globe is located in a steep canyon, around 3,500 feet, in the Pinal Mountains of southern Gila County, Arizona. It is the county seat and connects to Miami, Arizona via U.S. 60. With ample water and an attractive distribution of mining products, Globe was founded in 1876. Prior to its incorporation in 1907, the city was incorporated twice.

Globe has more than 20 percent of its employment related to mining and copper production. A $50 million investment by the federal government boosted the local tourism industry. It provided recreational camp grounds and amenities at the nearby Roosevelt Lake.

Presently, Globe’s downtown is rich in historic structures which include the 1906 Gila County Courthouse (now converted to the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts). It also offers a variety of dining establishments, a golf course, two libraries, a bowling alley, a historical museum, a swimming pool, six parks, several tennis courts and two community centers.
