Lakeside Arizona
Pinetop-Lakeside which was founded in the early 1880’s by Mormon pioneers is located in the scenic White Mountains of Arizona. It is in the Navajo County area. The term “Lakeside” was derived from the area’s lakes and the name “Pinetop” was taken nickname of a saloon keeper who served the Fort Apache soldiers. The two towns were later incorporated as one town in the year 1984. Hitting the road from Phoenix, U.S. 60 through the scenic Salt River Canyon or state Highway 260 through Payson leads to Pinetop-Lakeside.
Pinetop-Lakeside currently has a total population of 4,055 based on the U.S. Census Bureau 2004. It sits at an elevation of 7,200 feet. And it is now known for its extensive recreational activities and tourism, proximity to the largest stand of ponderosa pine and for having an outstanding quality of life for its local residents. It also offers a lot of resources such as pollution-free air, clean water, access to other major metropolitan areas and a well-planned rural business atmosphere.
