Many Farms Arizona

Many Farms is more commonly known as Da’ah’eh Halani to its local residents. It is an Indian community within the Navajo Nation about 15 miles north of Chinle. Founded in 1937, Many Farms emerged as a community after the construction of the local reservoir’s irrigation dam. The community was comprised by a few clusters of residential homes, a general store, and a school house at that time.

Today, Many Farms, with a land area of 168,000 acres, includes the campus of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Boarding School and the Many Farms BIA High School. It is also considered as a secondary growth center by the Navajo Nation Government.

Many Farms has a population of 1,548 as of 2000 U.S. Census. It offers scenic attractions like the Canyon de Chelly, a geological and historic wonder, and Many Farms Lake which is one of the largest in the reservation with 25,000 acre feet of water.
