Scottsdale Arizona
Scottsdale is located in Maricopa County in Arizona’s Valley of the Sun. It was founded in 1888 by an Army Chaplain named Winfield Scott. It was long known as the “West’s Most Western Town.” Upon its incorporation in 1951, it has grown from a small farming cluster of 2,000 people that occupies an area of one-square mile to a vibrant community of more than 214,000 people spread over 185 square miles of area.
Today, the community of Scottsdale boasts an estimated population of 226,982 based on the U.S. Census 2004. Its present economy contains a diverse mix of financial, business, computer and professional services.
