Tusayan Arizona
Tusayan is a town located in Coconino County, in Arizona which is near the south entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park. It is a small resort town which is focused on accommodating visitors to the Grand Canyon. The name “Tusayan” was taken from a Hopi phrase which means “country of isolated buttes.” The population was 562 as of 2000 census.
The Tusayan Ruins and Museum is a significant museum located 3 miles east of Moran Point on the south side of the highway. It is an archeological site that contains evidence of early human presence in the Grand Canyon. This museum also provides more information about the ancestral Pueblo people who once inhabited the area. Artifacts, models of the dwellings, and exhibits on modern tribes of the region are also displayed in the museum.
