Valentine Arizona
The town of Valentine is an unincorporated town located in Mohave County, Arizona near the Grand Wash Cliffs. It was previously known as Truxton Canyon.
Historically, the area was set aside for the Haulpai Indians in the year 1900. An Indian school was built on the area and an Indian agent was the first to serve as postmaster. For a short period, the post office was discontinued and was re-established in 1910. It was then that a new name had to be chosen for the town. Valentine was chosen in honor of Robert G. Valentine who served as Commissioner for Indian Affairs (1908-1910).
