Verde Valley Arizona
Verde Valley is located in Yavapai County adjacent to the city of Cottonwood. It lies within the heart of Arizona. It is an unincorporated town founded in 1970 with an area of 1,200 square miles and elevation of 3,320 feet. It is nestled between the Mogollon Rim, the Mingus Mountain range and the red rock cliffs of Sedona.
Along the perennial Verde River is a home to some of Arizona’s most breathtaking landscapes, riparian habitat and history. The Verde River is also an excellent habitat for wildlife being interlaced by over 150 miles of rivers and streams.
It has a population of 10,131 as of 1999 census. It has become a haven for retirees and recreation seekers for its mild climate. Much of the community’s income is in the form of Social Security payments, private retirement benefits, stock dividends and savings because around two-thirds of the populations are retirees. Construction is another major source of income for the town because of the steady increase in population.
